End of the year swatches

Hello my lovely beautiful people! Who ever is reading this, I fully appreciate it!

I made a realization tonight. As I prepared for this post.
I could never become a full on blogger and one to review polishes. Just cause my life’s already busy enough. But also because I’m super picky about my polishes. I know what I like and know what will look good on my nails. As much as I love nail polish, I know I don’t love them all equally. And my review, despite being honest, might be hurtful. Maybe…maybe not.
I admire all those bloggers who have a family a job and still find the time to swatch and blog! They’re awesome. I just couldn’t do it 😉

Onto my pretties! These are swatches from the past couple of weeks. I know I won’t be back for weeks! So here ya go!
If you’ve gotten this far, please know I’m smiling that you are here reading this ❤

Indie Sunday swatch!

Hello lovelies!

Tonight I will keep it short and sweet and post 2 indies I recently swatched, these 2 beauties are from Australia. One was a gift from a lovely friend of mine all the way from Spain. The other was a purchase I did directly from Llarowe.

Let’s get started!

First up is Ozotic sugar 902. This is a a purple shimmery beauty! A gift from my lovely friend Jeanette. A great nail lover like myself. I layered this over OPI Black Onyx. Maybe 2 coats with Seche Vite top coat.

20131027-185120.jpg
I really loved the way this turned out! It wears very well and I highly recommend this if you’re into shimmers and layering and such.

Next was a purchase I made for myself from Llarowe. This is Arcane Lacquer An Amorous Disposition. It was love at first sight. The swatches made me want this beauty so bad! When it finally arrived I must admit I wasn’t too excited. And it wasn’t until I swatched it that I fell even more in love with it. It’s got tiny colorful glitter and black glitter in a dark magenta base. It’s gorgeous! I wore this beauty for a couple of days. It wears very well! I highly recommend this brand.

20131027-185601.jpg

20131027-185614.jpg

You can find both of these beauties on Llarowe
Not sure if they’re currently in stock but head on over and check it out!

That’s all for now!

Hope you enjoyed tonight’s Aussie beauties!

Swatches I did a few weeks back

Hello!
Happy Sunday! This weekend has been relaxing, cold and somewhat quiet for us. That’s a good thing right?
Onto tonight’s post!

Tonight I have several pics from of course, my untried stash. These are some of my favorites, a mainstream and mostly indies.

Enjoy!

First up is Different Dimension Ditz. A gorgeous pink holo. Part of their 80’s collection. I love it! I’m an 80’s baby and of course I had to have it. It was a birthday gift.

20131020-210920.jpg
Isn’t she beautiful??!!

This next indie is by Pahlish and it’s called Piano filled with flames. What can I say about this beauty that hasn’t already been said? It is a gorgeous mixture of glitter, red tiny bits of glitter. It reminds me so much of those infamous ruby red slippers yet a bit like those flames it’s name mentions. Pahlish is one of my favorite indie creators because of their unique way of naming products and their awesome combos.

20131020-211450.jpg
I wore this baby for a date with my hubby. I couldn’t stop staring at my nails!

Next is a beauty I fell for when I first googled A England. This is Tristam. I don’t need to explain its beauty. I’m sure you’ve all seen it by now. It’s just that gorgeous.

20131020-212002.jpg
I love this one so much. It’s classy, feminine and blue! What more can you ask for?

This last one is one I will just put out there as my least wanted but most loved. One I wasn’t sure of until I swatched it. I’m a fan of grey. But sometimes they look all wrong for me. This one wasn’t one of those. Essie Power Clutch.

20131020-212448.jpg
I loved it so much that I used it as undies for this next gorgeous indie. Yes another Pahlish. Typewriter Keys, another lemming of mine squashed by my dear sis. This mani I wore for an entire 3 days! I don’t usually do that you know 🙂 I just love the way this glitter topper flows on the grey as if they were meant to be! I’m truly in love….

Hope you enjoyed these swatches! Thank you for reading.

Sweet dreaming in polish!

Untried pretties

Hello!!

It’s been more than a week since my last post! My apologies… Last week was crazy busy with parent/teacher conferences and getting ready for a big party my family had this past Saturday. It was awesome and now that it’s over I can get back to the things I love! Back to swatching and posting all my pretty untrieds.

Tonight I have some older untrieds. Those that get pushed back the list and don’t get swatched because a newbie has arrived. This is one of the first polishes I bought from a “nail polish group” on Facebook. Maybe back in April? It is Nfu-oh 61. Now, when I bought this I had no idea what to expect. I wasn’t in love with it. I must confess, I only bought it because of its bottle shape. Yes! Sight unseen, swatch unseen I just had to have that kind of bottle. When it arrived I immediately swatched it on a nail wheel and forgot about it. Back then my polish was set up really weird. I stored my polish in small plastic bins with lids in my mud room! Yes, crazy. So anyways, I forgot all about it until later. Took me until early last month to swatch it! I was afraid I’d love it and afraid to use with no aqua base. A friend of mine said, no base needed it’s ok! So here you have it, #61 in all it’s holographic glory. I fell. Fell hard.

20131014-201945.jpg
Natural light view-

20131014-202033.jpg
Swoon ^____^

Next is another holographic beauty that I neglected because well I am not a huge holo fan. Or so I keep telling myself…This one was a gift from a dear friend and it just sat there unloved. Until a week or so ago. I will say that the only holos I do love are from Color Club. Maybe because they’re easy to score and look very pretty in the bottle as well as the nails. This one wasn’t one I would have bought. I am lucky a friend sent it to me and I discovered I can love this one too! Color Club Cherubic.

20131014-202506.jpg

20131014-202519.jpg
Isn’t it lovely?

Last but not least is an indie I bought because it is black. I don’t think I’ve mentioned this before but I love black polish. Pink and black, red and black, purple and black etc etc etc. I love to use black as my base and layer it with glitters and jellies and what not! I want to own every black polish made! I own OPI, Essie, sinful colors, Orly, etc etc etc. Yes, in black. I know they’re all the same, they’re black. But what can I say I’m crazy like that! Didn’t you read that part where I kept my polish in a mud room? Crazzzzy!!! 😉 This is Emily de Molly Muted Madness.

20131014-203208.jpg
Isn’t she gorgeous?

Thank you for reading! Hope you enjoyed my crazy post 😛

What are you crazy about?

Random swatching post

Happy Friday!

Hello! This week I have for you short nail swatches! I cut down my nails and I wanted to share some pretty untrieds.

First up is Sally Hansen Pat In the black. A very dark, rich almost black burgundy. It’s been on my untried list for months! I just had to swatch it. The application was easy. The formula was great of course. As much as I was pleased with the result, I decided it was time to part with this. Up on the swap/sale board it goes!

20131004-215153.jpg
This picture shows 2 coats no top coat.

Next is OPI Jade Is The New Black. A strong green almost rich emerald. A softer emerald I’d say. I must say, I am not a fan of greens. Period. But this I loved. This I will keep!

20131004-215715.jpg
This picture shows 2 coats, with top coat.

Then there was this blue/green… Julep Lena. It’s gorgeous! It’s soft, shiny, creamy, easy to apply and just beautiful!
As much as I loved applying this beauty, I was so disappointed with removal. Maybe I’m using the wrong base coat? I had stains for what seemed days… I may or may not keep it!

20131004-220058.jpg
This picture shows 2-3 coats, seche vite top coat.

Finally an indie. Pahlish Dark Paradise. Ahhh… Purple is my favorite color. This was layered over 2 coats of Zoya Hope. This beauty has tiny golden glitters. It’s dark purple and it was easy to apply. I loved it! I used 2 coats for this swatch.

20131004-220927.jpg

That’s it for this week’s untried post! Hope you like the short nails! I’m going to be posting more swatches from before I started this little blog.

Have a great weekend!

Indies from my untried stash

Happy Saturday night everyone!

Tonight I bring you 3 different swatches from my “untried stash”. These are all indies I received for my birthday last month and I just had to bump them to the top of my list because they’re just gorgeous!

First up is Slow fade of love by Pahlish. This was on my wish list for what seemed to be forever and my sweet sister got this for me! Actually she got me quite a bit! Plus 4 custom made polishes, that will need a post of their own because they’re special.
Here is a picture of all my Birthday pretties:
20130928-223347.jpg

I will definitely be swatching these all and posting pics for your viewing pleasure!

Onto the Pahlish…. I got to say… This is the very first indie company I fell in love with. I’ve fallen for others before. But when I say fallen I mean-I-need-all-of-their-polishes fallen! All. This was layered over a lilac that I just wasn’t feeling. It probably didn’t need layering since it’s very thick on its own. The glitters are small and very sparkly! I love it!

20130928-221705.jpg

Next up is an Australian indie maker by the name of Gloss n’ Sparkle. I introduce Fruit Tingle . This beauty was a pleasure to swatch. No fuss, no mess, no problem! It was easy to gather the glitters onto the brush and the application was flawless! I must say I was very impressed! I paired it with Color Club Chelsea Girl just for fun.

20130928-222031.jpg

Last but not least is Crows Toes Heartless. A dark pink glitter topper with small tiny black and pink dot looking glitters. I layered 2 coats over OPI Flashbulb Fuschia. First coat went on easy. But the second was a tad difficult. Maybe it didn’t need 2 and being the sparkly lover that I am I went ahead and did it anyways. I still loved it! It wore well for 2 whole days! Considering that I swatch on a daily basis! 😛

20130928-222452.jpg

I hope you enjoyed tonight’s post! I will be posting more of those untrieds soon!

Which one of these did you like the most? And who are your favorite indie makers?

Let me know in the comments below!

Thank you!

sweet dreams
